Meet-up to see the International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition at Verdant Works in Dundee

10:00 Saturday 23rd, August, 2025
Host: Pamela Cook

International Garden Photographer of the Year, or IGPOTY, continues to be one of the world's most respected photography competitions and exhibitions, particularly within the genres of garden, plant, flower and botanical photography.

Verdant Works, Dundee, welcomes the latest IGPOTY Exhibition; pairing beautiful natural scenes from around the world with atmospheric Victorian mill surrounds. Alongside IGPOTY Exhibition 18, Verdant Works, will be showcasing awarded images by local photographers from the Dundee’s Heritage and Nature Special Award.

Verdant Works is a world class visitor attraction which tells the story of Dundee’s industrial heritage. Step back in time to the heart of Dundee's industrial legacy; hear the tales of the mill workers; and see how they lived and worked in an industry which enveloped Dundee.

Pamela Cook will aim to arrive in Dundee around 9:30am. The museum, and exhibition, are open 10am to 5pm. You can then agree a meet-up time at the museum closer to the time. Afterwards, there are plenty of photo opportunities in Dundee. Key locations include the V&A, the RRS Discovery, Dundee Law, and the Tay Road Bridge.

No meet-up in your area?

Why not host a meet-up? Hosting a meet-up is easy. Just decide where you would like to photograph, pick a date and time, and then email Angela to receive a form to complete to let her know the details. Then all you need to do is be there at the appointed time.

Locations with good transport links, easy access to toilets and a convenient place for tea/coffee, snacks and/or lunch are usually favoured.
