OM System OM-5 Mark II Price, Specs, Availability Announced
OM System has introduced the OM-5 Mark II, a new mirrorless interchangeable lens camera designed with the needs of outdoor creators in mind. It evolves from the original OM-5, maintaining the compact Micro Four Thirds format while bringing upgrades to usability, durability and creative tools.
Weighing just 418g, the OM-5 Mark II features a redesigned grip for improved handling and retains the weather-sealed build rated to IP531, with freeze-proofing to -10°C. It’s aimed at photographers and videographers who need a lightweight but rugged system that can be used in varied outdoor conditions.

The camera inherits the same 20.37MP Live MOS sensor and TruePic IX processor as its predecessor, with 5-axis in-body image stabilisation offering up to 7.5 stops when paired with compatible lenses. The autofocus system uses a 121-point all cross-type phase detection system, but although there is human face and eye detection, there’s no subject detection.
Meanwhile, video creators will appreciate the addition of the OM-Cinema profiles and a USB-C port for power bank charging.
To make the camera’s computational photography tools more readily available, the OM-5 Mark II adds a dedicated CP button, giving quick access to features like Live ND, High Res Shot, Focus Stacking and Live Composite. Night sky photographers will appreciate new tools such as Starry Sky AF and Handheld Assist mode, making astro work more feasible without a tripod.
The menu structure also mirrors that of the OM-1 series, offering a more intuitive interface.
The OM-5 Mark II comes in black, silver and a new limited edition Sand Beige colour, designed to blend with natural surroundings.

The OM-5 Mark II will be available from mid-July 2025, with a suggested retail price of £1,099 for the body only. The Sand Beige version will be produced in limited quantities and available only while stocks last.
