DJI Neo 2 brings smarter flight and safer shooting for beginners

DJI has introduced the Neo 2, a lightweight and compact drone designed to make aerial photography and videography even easier than before, especially for beginners. Weighing just 151g, the Neo 2 is the lightest drone in DJI's line-up to feature omnidirectional obstacle sensing, making it a safer option for new pilots and anyone flying in more challenging environments.

Designed with ease of use in mind, the Neo 2 includes gesture control, voice commands and palm take-off and landing. You can launch it simply by pointing it and pressing a button, then bring it back down with a Return-to-Palm feature that lands it in your hand. You can even direct it mid-air with one or both palms, or use your voice through your phone or Bluetooth headphones.

The DJI Neo 2 features a 12MP camera with a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor and an f/2.2 aperture, supported by a 2-axis gimbal to deliver smooth 4K footage. DJI has also introduced a SelfieShot mode that makes it easy to frame yourself or a group with no tripod or helper needed. Combined with the upgraded ActiveTrack function, which now includes eight-direction tracking, it's said to be easy to capture dynamic footage while walking, running or cycling.

The drone offers a range of intelligent shooting modes including Dolly Zoom, QuickShots (Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix and Boomerang) and MasterShots, which stitches together multiple clips with music for an edited final video.

For added peace of mind, especially for less experienced users, the Neo 2 features a mix of LiDAR, monocular vision and infrared sensors that help it avoid obstacles and hover more reliably, even indoors or close to buildings. Its integrated propeller guards add an extra layer of protection.

With up to 19 minutes of flight time and 49GB of internal storage, there's plenty of opportunity to capture and store your footage or images before wirelessly transferring to your phone via the DJI Fly App.

The Neo 2 is also compatible with the DJI RC-N3 remote controller and motion controller for FPV (first-person view) flying.
