SheClicks Challenges

Every month, we have a photography challenge for SheClicks members. It’s sponsored by MPB and each month has a specific theme. Entering the challenge is easy because you can submit up to 5 five images via our dedicated challenge submission webpage using the password Challenge23. Please also post your images in the SheClicks Facebook Group to inspire others to get involved.

At the end of the month, up to 25 of the submitted images are selected by Angela or a special guest judge to appear in our Gallery page for the world to see. The team at PermaJet will also select their favourite image from those 25 to print for the photographer and share on their social channels (tagging the photographer).

How to prepare your images for submission

Please ensure that each image you submit is:

  1. Saved as a Jpeg.

  2. At 1920 pixels along the longest dimension so it looks good on the gallery.

  3. Is less than 2MB. If your images won’t upload, it’s likely because they are larger than 2MB.

  4. Submit your image(s) using the new upload page, the password is Challenge23.

SheClicks May 2024 Photography Challenge

Theme: Shallow Depth of Field

It’s a long time since we had a ‘technical’ theme, so this month, the challenge is to submit images with shallow depth of field, sometimes called ‘selective focus’. This means only a small section of your image should be in focus and it’s often achieved by shooting with a large aperture (small f/number such as f/2.8), but going in close and using a long lens can also deliver the same effect.

SheClicks Exhibition at The Fujifilm House of Photography

Later this year we will have an exhibition at The Fujifilm House of Photography. The images will be selected from those on our gallery page from our 2024 challenges.

I’m also hopeful that we will have an exhibition at The Photography Show 8-11th March 2025 at ExCel in London.
